Therapy for Individuals, Couples & Family

What happens at the initial therapy consultation?

Your initial therapy consultation is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. It’s also a chance to learn why you seek counseling, how your current situation impacts your life, your goals for counseling, and your background.

Therapy doesn’t occur during the consultation; it starts in the first session after the consultation. Your initial consultation is the perfect time for the client and therapist to ask each other questions.

Before your consultation, it may be helpful to brainstorm and make a list of questions to ask the therapist. You may consider asking your therapist who they are, how they work and approach therapy sessions and more. Therapy is very personal and relies on mutual trust, respect, and open communication.

Our goal is to help you navigate your life so you can thrive. By arranging an initial consultation, we will have a better idea about how the counselor may be helpful for you or if we’re a good fit for each other.
