If you have tried therapy before and felt you weren't getting anywhere, or if you have always felt

too intimidated to try, you will find my approach to getting to know you reassuring. Working

together, we will help you discover what you may not yet know about yourself while affirming

ways to build trust in your own process of self-discovery.

Not everyone is comfortable unveiling their whole history. Instead, you may be looking for ways

to normalize and grow from your internal experience, which is quite possibly connected to your

history. I aim to help you utilize the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing through methods

that will help inform and support your journey toward wellness.

Who I Love To Work With

I am drawn to working with people navigating life transitions, whether by virtue of age, marital

status, education, career, or substance awareness. If you are feeling uncertain as you move

through change, I would love to help you better understand your experience and find a path

forward.

Common Reasons Adult Clients Often Reach Out for Support in Federal Way

Anxiety and the ruminating thoughts that keep you from feeling connected to your authentic self.

Depression and low mood that make it difficult to engage in the things that bring you joy.

Shame associated with developmental trauma and the resulting impact on identity and self-worth.

The effects of big T and small t trauma that can create disconnection between thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences.

Boundaries and the fear or discomfort that can arise when learning to assert your needs.

Life transitions that feel overwhelming or difficult to navigate.

The experience of adoption and the ways it can relate to loss, identity, and belonging.

Grief and loss, especially as they connect to the healing process after trauma.

Women’s issues explored within the context of cultural expectations, relationships, and patterns of codependence.

What It’s Like in a Session With Me

My sessions begin with accepting your life experiences and understanding the ways you have

adapted to them. Together, we will explore those experiences with curiosity and compassion,

creating space for greater self-awareness and healing. At times, I incorporate brief meditative

exercises to help deepen personal awareness and connection to your inner experience.

Through a combination of support, insight development, communication strategies, education,

and compassionate care, I believe people can begin a journey of discovering that they deserve

to feel better. Along the way, they learn they can benefit from effective treatment that addresses

the despair and anxiety affecting their daily lives while uncovering the possibility of greater

meaning, fulfillment, and joy.

A Note From Me

I work hard to create a space that reduces shame and judgment, recognizing that we all have

life experiences that shape and impact us. I believe that while things may have happened to us,

there is nothing inherently wrong with us. That perspective is at the heart of my work, and I hope

it provides a foundation of acceptance, compassion, and safety for everyone I work with. We're

in this together.

I maintain strong family and community connections. My family was formed by adoption, and my

husband and I are extremely proud of our three young adult daughters. We are all settled here

in the PNW after many moves about the country, including the Midwest, and our original home

in New England.

Within my family, I am known for the following: "No credit, no blame." It comes from my belief

that the journey of life is best taken without expectations for credit or the repercussions of

blame.
