Liz brings a depth of experience and practice to her work with adults, couples, and teens struggling to find their place in their lives and relationships.
Together you will discover ways to work through your past to get to a more effective future. By bringing to light and addressing the places you might have gotten stuck along the way, you will be able to more easily make the choices and commitments that are in line with who and where you want to be. Sometimes this looks like accepting the things that cannot change, and sometimes this looks like shifting the patterns of response that are no longer working for you.
Support for Adults
Liz’s work with adults centers on providing support for transitions, or should we say, the responses that we have to transition and changes. Frequently when our systems are overwhelmed by change and adjustment, we see symptoms of depression and/or anxiety show up.
Liz will help you learn more effective coping skills and strategies to help in the here and now. She will also help you explore the roots of how and why your body and mind got stuck/overwhelmed in the first place. All too often our responses to the present are informed by our past experiences. In working through, healing, and resolving our past experiences, we find that change and transition don’t feel as overwhelming.

Transition to Parenthood
One of the biggest transitions adults may go through is the transition of becoming a new parent/mom. If you have just had a child and are struggling with some of the symptoms above, you are not alone.
As a therapist who works with postpartum mood disorders and new moms, and as a mother herself, Liz understands the unique challenges that come with the transition of becoming a mother. Whether you are struggling with postpartum anxiety, depression, or are struggling with feeling good about the birth that you had, Liz is here to help and support you as you navigate this phase of life.
Support for Teens
Being a teenager is a constant journey in adjustment. Adjusting to becoming an adult, adjusting to changes in family dynamics, and adjusting to new opportunities, and the desire for more responsibility and freedom. Liz loves her work supporting her teen clients through the transition to adulthood.
Working with teens from age 13 up, Liz works individually and with a teen's family system to provide support and guidance along the way. If you are the parent of a teen you know that this can be an extremely challenging time for family relationships and dynamics. If you are struggling to know how to support your teen, or to know how to improve your family’s relationships, it may be time to come in for some support.

Have you ever felt like you and your partner are stuck in ruts that you recognize from your own parents or family or origin growing up?
Here’s the thing about relationships: we consciously and unconsciously enact the patterns that we used and are familiar with from our original family systems. These patterns of response often get in the way of you and your partner/spouse feeling connected and nourished in your relationship. Instead of feeling connected and like you are part of a team, you might feel hurt, frustrated, and alone.
If this is the case in your relationship Liz can offer more effective ways of communicating, and also new ways of connecting to get back to working on the same team again.
Multi-cultural competence and specialization
As a 1st generation American, Liz understands what an adjustment it can be to live in a culture other than your own home culture. Liz understands personally and professionally the challenges that come with living as a bi-cultural person in our American society. Liz’s unique experiences lend to her supporting her individuals, teens, and couples who are living in bi-cultural families, and/or are 1st or 2nd generation Americans.
Liz is fluent in Russian and is happy to provide counseling in Russian and English if this is helpful for you and your family.
